Ugh. Welcome to the sad world of procreation in the 21st century (I mean, in America). Not to be a paranoid, conspiracy theory preachin' know it all, but question everything they call "normal" until you're convinced it really is so!
So much of the modern medical community is hostile to our values. As a Christian, becoming a parent can become a fascinating journey into the parenting underground. Viva la revolucion!
Ok, seriously though, we are so happy for you guys, and please feel free to ask us about anything else that comes up that seems sketchy to you.
They might not like question askers, but no one else has the privilege of being your child's advocate but you two!

We haven't done any of those tests with any of our kids simply because the results wouldn't change the outcome of us having and loving that baby. There is a fair chance the tests comes back as a false positive too. It really saddens me that the medical world expects people to just not question the necessity or validity of those tests (and of course, a slew of other procedures). I think it is better to know as much as you can so you can make the best choice for your family that God has entrusted to your care. Glad your (er, her) pregnancy is going well!
